Sam,

Great news! We just received notice from the United States Department of Education Office of Adult and Vocational Education that the Future Educator Association will be given status so that federal funding (Perkins IV) can support state-level programs. A few states are already tapping into those funds, Arizona and West Virginia, but we expect more to follow.

Watch at the futureeducator.org website for updates and let us know if we can help your state officials use these funds to create classes and clubs at middle level and high schools.

BRAVO on your comments. How sad that federal funding has been neglected for one of our most important national educational priorities. It would be interesting to know which states have included funding for such initiatives in their state budgets. Thank you for your continued common-sense, practical thinking and comments related to the issues with which we are deaing in public education in the U.S.
