2007-2008 Campaign

An important component of the PDK Educational Foundation is the Annual Fund. July 1 marked the start of the 2007-2008 campaign. Contributions to the Foundation support scholarships, Future Educators Association (FEA) middle and high school clubs, the PDK/Gallup Poll, and publications, to name a few. The Foundation Board of Governors continues to seek new initiatives that will focus on mentoring, leadership, and the excellent work of our PDK chapters. These programs serve thousands of Kappans, educators, and students.

Members receive a pledge card from either the International Office or from the chapter Foundation Representative. The card is returned with a pledge, a donation, or both. In addition to supporting worthy programs, your contribution also counts toward your chapter's cumulative total for the Annual Fund campaign and its eligibility for recognition and awards. Chapters are encouraged to set a yearly fundraising goal for a Club Status. There are four Club levels — 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% — each determined by the percent of good-standing members donating $10.00 or more to the Educational Foundation.

At the end of the 2006-2007 drive, the Foundation's Board of Governors recognized the fundraising efforts of more than half of PDK's chapters with certificates or monetary awards. Those achievements are noted in the Foundation Annual Report mailed to all members in November and at http://www.pdkintl.org/chapters/anfund07.htm.
