Legislation may be generated by any professional member or chapter. The process is highlighted below. All proposals must be submitted in writing to the International Board at least 14 days prior to a regularly scheduled meeting.

Constitutional Amendment

Any professional member may propose an amendment (requires a 2/3 affirmative vote of the International Board to be submitted for a general membership vote).

Any chapter may propose an amendment (requires 2/3 affirmative vote of the International Board to be submitted for a general membership vote).

 

A proposal supported by 500 or more professional members is submitted to the general membership for a vote.

A proposal supported by the governing boards of 10 or more chapters is submitted to the general membership for a vote.

Amendment to the Bylaws

Any member of the International Board may submit a proposal.

The governing board of three or more chapters may submit a proposal.

 

A proposal supported by 250 or more professional members may be submitted.

The proposal is forwarded to members and chapter officers for input prior to a vote by the International Board (requires 2/3 affirmative vote).
