The Service Key is a chapter award of Phi Delta Kappa International that can be given to members who are currently in good standing and who meet specified qualifications. An application form must be certified by the chapter with which the applicant is affiliated. The certified application is then submitted to the executive director at PDK International along with full payment of the purchase price of the key selected (see jewelry items below).
Qualifications. To be eligible for the Service Key, a member must meet the following requirements:
- The member must have contributed meritorious service, outstanding leadership, or significant research to Phi Delta Kappa, as recommended and documented by the chapter.
- The member must have at least seven years of good-standing membership preceding the date of application.
The certified application is sent to the executive director at Phi Delta Kappa International. The executive director may award the key, if all qualifications are met, subject to approval by the Board of Directors at its next regularly scheduled meeting. The key is sent to the chapter for presentation to the recipient.
