Petermichel Family Scholarship Fund
The Petermichel Family scholarship was established by Richard and Judy Petermichel in 1999 to honor the memory of Therese Ann Petermichel, sister. Other family members remembered through the scholarship are parents John and Genevieve Petermichel and siblings John and Mary Petermichel. The award is given to a Catholic high school senior who plans to pursue a career in education.
Ms. Therese Petermichel was a career member of the United States Navy. She spent 24 years working and teaching in the Navy dental care system and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Petermichel are Indiana residents. Dick retired from the Bedford North Lawrence school system in 2000, and Judy retired from Phi Delta Kappa International in 2001.
Recipients of the Petermichel Family Scholarship are selected from applications submitted through PDK's prospective educator scholarship program.
