Friday night: Dinner with over 1,000 future educators featuring an inspirational presentation by Jim Abbott, former professional baseball player.
Saturday: Special breakout sessions designed for practicing educators. Lunch for all attendees featuring this year’s National Teacher of the Year, Rebecca Mielwocki. FEA Awards Banquet Dinner.
Registered guests of the Hilton Orlando will receive a discount off the conference registration fee! All conference activities will take place at the Hilton Orlando. PDK is offering a FREE workshop designed just for PDK and Pi Lambda Theta members. Attendees will learn how to: plan and host high-quality/high-interest local events, minimize red tape when organizing local educators, and advocate for children and schools. Whether you are a chapter leader or a member who wants to find new ways to network with educators in your area, this is an opportunity for you to learn how to engage local educators, as well as share your own best practices with other PDK and PLT members.
When: Thursday evening and all day Friday, April 25-26, 2013; additional programming available Saturday, April 27 (see below).
Where: Beautiful Hilton Orlando hotel in Orlando, Florida. Book your sleeping room for the special negotiated room rate of only $159 + tax/night.
Cost: FREE — Workshop registration is free to all PDK and Pi Lambda Theta members, and includes a reception Thursday evening hosted by Forrest T. Jones & Co., and breakfast and lunch on Friday.
