BLOOMINGTON, IN — Jo Ann Fujioka takes office as president of Phi Delta Kappa International (PDK), a professional association for educators, July 2005. Ms. Fujioka worked for 26 years in the Jefferson County school system in Denver, Colorado — most recently as area special education administrator.
Ms. Fujioka succeeds outgoing president Sherry Morgan, Superintendent of Schools, Diocese of Knoxville, Tennessee. Joining Ms. Fujioka on the PDK board in July is the incoming PDK president-elect, John Amato, principal of Maple Place Middle School in Oceanport, New Jersey, and adjunct professor in graduate studies at Monmouth University.
PDK, representing more than 68,000 members in the United States and abroad, strives to prepare the next generation of educators through innovative projects such as future educator clubs, teacher-to-teacher mentoring, cutting-edge publications, and professional development travel opportunities. PDK will celebrate its centennial in 2006. |
