Graphic Organizers for Content Instruction

All of our training opportunities are site-specific. That is, the content is tailored to the expressed needs of the participants, and it is delivered to your site.

When students can graphically organize the essential concepts of the standards being taught, learning is taken to a higher level and has greater potential for long-term memory retention.

This one-day workshop will show teachers how to take lessons to the higher levels of thinking by guiding students to graphically organize the concepts of the content they teach. Participants will focus on ways to process the concepts of fiction and nonfiction texts through various levels of depth and complexity by using specific graphic organizers in daily classroom lessons. The five ways to graphically organize content instruction will be explored.

Participants will leave this workshop with specific before, during and after strategies that focus students on the essential concepts of the standards being taught.
