Marvin Marshall
Marvin Marshall stays busy these days with his “Discipline without Stress® Punishments or Rewards,” which is used in schools around the world. The system uses internal motivation so students want to behave responsibly and want to learn.

He has been a keynote speaker and distinguished lecturer at numerous state, national, and international conferences and has presented in 43 of the United States and in 14 countries on five continents. His monthly newsletter on promoting responsibility and learning, increasing effectiveness, and improving relationships has over 14,000 subscribers. He is a former elementary, middle, and high school teacher; middle and high school counselor certified by the William Glasser Institute; elementary principal; middle school assistant principal; high school assistant principal; and high school principal.  Marv would love to hear from his Kappan friends. Bob Lykke
I've been a Kappan since 1967 and have been retired for eleven
years. I completed my career as a school principal in the Millard Public Schools and now supervise student teachers at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

I've also supervised administrative practicum students at that
university. My wife, Mary, and I spend considerable time volunteering in the community. I tutor elementary students, serve the elderly through the Office on Aging, and volunteer at the Hospice House. I continue to be excited about learning and the education profession. My address is

Al Pautler
Al Pautler worked 43 years in education–10 years as a high school electronics teacher, 3 years as a professor at Rutgers University, and 30 years as a professor in the Graduate School of Education at the University at Buffalo. Ron Fitzgerald
Ron Fitzgerald is a retired teacher and superintendent who now provides workshops and free web site resources at www.SmartTeaching.org to school districts interested in a brain-friendly system approach to increasing student achievement.  He is the author of a teacher’s handbook SMART TEACHING: USING BRAIN RESEARCH AND DATA TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE LEARNING. Dan Keilman
Along with his PDK duties as a CML in Region Ee, Dan Keilman is very involved in a local resale shop originating with eleven churches in his area.  “Our profits go to helping the needy in our community.  No work could be more rewarding.  It is in giving of ourselves that we receive."  PDK friends can contact Dan at danielkeilman@comcast.net.  

Lee Hymovitz
After 40 years as teacher, department head, college instructor, administrator, and principal in the Philadelphia School District, Dr. Leon Hymovitz served as consultant to charter schools and founded the Foxman Academy Secular Studies Program, grades 9-12, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  He is completing his ninth year there as Principal.  He founded the retirees’ chapter of the Philadelphia Association of School Administrators (PASA).

Additionally, he supervised beginning teachers for Temple, Rutgers, and St. Joseph's Universities.  He was also a mentor to beginning principals.  Together with his wife Shirley, he has travelled extensively and plans a trip to the Black Sea, Prague, Vienna, and Berlin in July.  For six years, he has served as a "Key Communicator" for the Voorhees School District in New Jersey.  A constant reader of non-fiction, he is an avid theatre, concert, and museum devote'.  In short, he flunked retirement.

He is currently preparing a column for the local press entitled, "A Senior's Moment".

Marie Diamond, Ed.D
Marie Diamond writes, "Today is my 78th birthday. I live in Pensacola, Florida. I retired from teaching elementary students when I was 70 years of age. After retirement, I enrolled in the doctorial program at the University of West Florida. I graduated with my doctorial degree in teacher education May 5, 2007—at that time I was 77 years of age. I continue to search for my place to be of service. I am writing to publish and have honed some of my research skills. I am searching for other meaningful things to do."
