Join us for the 2009 PDK International Summit on Quality Educator Recruitment and Retention!

The 2009 summit will be held at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown October 15-17, 2009. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join other educators from around the world to discuss where we can find quality teachers and how we can keep them in the profession. Because research shows that the single most important factor in a student’s education is the influence of his or her teacher, it is imperative that we address these questions.

Submit a 2009 PDK summit session proposal.

We invite you to join the discussion by submitting a proposal for a breakout session that addresses the summit focus. If you have specific information to share that will enhance the experience and spark discussion among the summit attendees, please consider submitting a session proposal by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. EST, January 30, 2009.

We are seeking debates, workshops, panel discussions, and research papers on the following topics:

• How do we increase the pipeline of potential educators, and how do we ensure they are of high quality?
• How do we prepare prospective educators for high-quality teaching in the 21st century?
• What are successful strategies to retain high-quality educators?
• What are the characteristics of quality educators who remain in the classroom?
• Can we cultivate highly-effective teachers through future educator programs?
• What are successful strategies to support and retain new teachers?
