Research shows that the single most important factor in a student’s education is the influence of his or her teacher. Therefore, the 2009 PDK International Summit on Quality Educator Recruitment and Retention will focus on two questions: Where do we find great educators, and how do we keep them?
A panel of educators will tackle these issues in a moderated session on Thursday, October 15. The topic will be further enhanced through debates, workshops, panel discussions, lectures, and research papers on the following topics:
- How do we increase the pipeline of potential educators, and how do we ensure they are of high quality?
- How do we prepare prospective educators for high-quality teaching in the 21st century?
- What are successful strategies to retain high-quality educators?
- What are the characteristics of quality educators who remain in the classroom?
- Can we cultivate highly effective teachers through future educator programs?
- What are successful strategies to support and retain new teachers?
We invite you to join us as we discuss the impact of recruiting and retaining quality educators on the future of our world. |
