Frequently Asked Questions

Do companies sponsoring events such as receptions or meals have input in food choice, planning, etc.?
No, PDK will take responsibility for food selection and event planning. If a company would like to be involved in choosing the menu, they will be responsible for the entire cost of the event. We would be happy to work with you and get cost estimates if this is something you are interested in pursuing.

Why should a company become a sponsor of the PDK annual summit?
Phi Delta Kappa has a proud tradition of meeting the needs of educators around the globe. Our mission is to promote high-quality education as essential to the development and maintenance of a democratic way of life by providing innovative programs, relevant research, visionary leadership, and dedicated service. Our annual summit is one of the ways in which we fulfill our mission and your company's sponsorship will be great publicity and an excellent way to reach educators.

When will the webpage information about each company be posted? How long will it stay up?
The information will be posted two Fridays after we have received your letter of agreement, your 100-word company description to be posted on the site, and the link to your company's website. It will remain on our summit website pages through the end of the 2008 summit on November 15.

Can a company purchase additional ad space in the program book?
Yes. Please contact us for ad specifications and submittal procedures. The deadline for us to receive all ads is June 22, 2008. Prices are $900 for a full-color, full-page inside cover ad (one available); $700 for a one-page black and white ad; and $500 for a half-page black and white ad.

Do the tables where attendees can pick up a company's promotional literature have to be staffed by the company?
No, these tables do not need to be staffed. You can send us your literature in advance and we will set it up at the summit. Any leftover literature will be thrown away after the summit concludes.

If a company does not have the ability to produce camera-ready ad copy for program book, will PDK design the ad?
No, we cannot design ads for companies. You must be able to submit an ad that matches our technical specifications. Contact us for details.

Will PDK accept sponsorships of less than $6,000? If so, what benefits do those sponsors receive?
Yes, sponsors contributing less than $6,000 will receive a table where summit attendees can pick up their company's literature and will be included in a list thanking the summit sponsors in the program book.

What is the deadline for a company to decide on a sponsorship?
Sponsors must decide by July 1, 2008.

Is there a letter of agreement that sponsors must sign?
Yes, we do have a letter of understanding that we will send to you.

What is the deadline for PDK to receive the sponsorship money?
The deadline is September 7, 2008.
