On October 20, 2007 thousands of volunteers worldwide will walk the sidewalks, parks, and malls as advocates for students, teachers, and the profession of education.
Many of them will be raising money solely for the programs of the PDK Educational Foundation.
Others will be raising money for these programs and for local, nonprofit, educational organizations and Future Educator Clubs.
In order to keep 60% of the funds raised for local needs, Local Team Leaders should recruit enthusiastic participants as part of their teams. Please print a copy of the PDK Chapter Registration Form or the FEA Chapter Registration Form and mail or fax it to PDK International as shown. (These forms are interactive PDFs. Become a Local Team Leader
As Team Leader, you should use the PDK Chapter Registration Form or the FEA Chapter Registration Form to list the volunteers on your team. Our Walk manual includes half-page sign-up forms requesting participant's signature and T-shirt size. These forms can be easily distributed and information from such should then be transferred to the team registration forms.
As Team Leader, you should collect the donations from your volunteers on or before the day of the Walk and remit the full amount to the PDK Educational Foundation (and we will return 60% to the designated nonprofit organizations or treasurer for PDK chapter teams). Once you have collected your team's donation, please use the PDK Chapter Walk Coordinator Post-Event Response Form or the FEA Advisor Post-Event Response Form to submit it to PDK International (a handy Sample Receipt is also offered to provide to all donors). (These forms are interactive PDFs. How to use an interactive PDF form)
Team Leaders are encouraged to coordinate local events ranging from informal Walks to more formal events. Remember, this is an opportunity for the people who care about education to attract attention about the needs they see every day with students in schools and universities around the world.
To help you coordinate an event, PDK International is providing you with a Team Leader Manual of practical suggestions on staging the kind of Walk that will gather much needed funds for education and offer a public platform for educational leaders to speak their point of view. |
